RETURN OF USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program

USDA has been given authority under the Families First Coronavirus response Act to purchase and distribute $3 billion dollars of agricultural products to those in need. They have partnered with a local distributer AG Link whose workforce has been impacted by the closure of restaurants, hotels and other food services. They purchase the produce, put it in to boxes and it is provided to nonprofit organizations such as schools. We will be distributing fresh produce boxes. We are excited to share with all of you that Keyes Union School District has partnered with the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program!

This is a COVID-19 relief Program designed to get food through the supply chain to ALL consumers AND support farmers/packers/distributors/truckers who have been affected by the current situation.  This program will offer FREE food boxes in our community of Keyes on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.  The distribution will take place at the same location our district previously provided meals to students on the 7th street bus loading zone at the Keyes Elementary School Site. This will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. No need to provide any identification in order to receive a box from this program. Please take advantage of this opportunity if you are in need.

Sincerely,
Dr. Helio Brasil
Superintendent
